Rosedale Cemetery, 1884 -1906, Los Angeles, California
Rosedale Cemetery, now called Angeles-Rosedale, is located at 1831 West Washington Blvd, and is one of the oldest cemeteries in the city of Los Angeles. Founded in 1884 and still in use today, the cemetery is the final resting place of over 450 Civil War soldiers, many buried in the plot reserved for the Grand Army of the Republic. In 1940, the DAR was given permission to copy the original burial records from the cemetery's opening through 1895. In addition, volunteers copied headstone information for deaths until 1906. All information in family plots, including burials up to 1940, is included. Information from Los Angeles County Death Records, as well as suggested family relationships, have been added. The directory includes approximately 4,500 entries.
